Wise words

1 in 3 Singaporeans will be diabetic. 3 amputations daily due to diabetes.

Compassion without wisdom is stupidity.

Be proud of being Chinese. Be a Chinese with an English name and not an English with a Chinese name.

Always remember: come back.

Filial piety. Never forget your parents.

No one should ever be bored, always kick yourself, go out there and do something. Even if you have to do it alone.

Loneliness will be your worst enemy. Don’t fall victim to your own loneliness. When you have to look to someone else to make your life exciting, you need to take your life into your own hands and do exciting things for yourself.

Take up responsibility.

Endure hardship – because if you don’t go through it, you will never know.

Never be too proud – not that you don’t have the ability to make it from scratch, but that you can make what’s successful now even better than before (referring to taking over family businesses – starting from an ‘unequal starting points’)

snippets that I caught from listening to a wise man tonight, will add more as they sink in
